Such a stunning place to stay. We really enjoyed our week here. The sofa was comfy, the beds were amazing, the linen was fresh and very clean. The host clearly put a lot of thought into the villa, thank you so much! A few call outs to be aware of; this villa is in the middle of nowhere. A bit of an exaggeration, there are neighbours but there is no place for food or shops. The closest is a supermarket about 5/10 mins away by car. The road to get to the villa is gravel, lots of pot holes so drive carefully. We hired a car but I can't imagine anyone staying here relying on taxis or public transport. There was a grey and white cat that would turn up, so incredibly friendly! I've named him chicken. Please give chicken some pets for me if you see him. If you love cats, be sure to grab some treats to feed any you come across. Overall we had a fabulous time staying here, it really felt like home! ❤️

Sie Unterkunft ist an sich sehr nett und schön ruhig gelegen. Man hat eine eigene Einfahrt und Parkplatz. Der größte Kritikpunkt ist, dass insbesondere das abgetrennte Schlafzimmer und das eine Bad sehr feucht sind. Im Großen Raum ist es aufgrund der Klimaanlage in Ordnung. Die Ausstattung ist zweckmäßig aber schön! Die Anfahrt ist aufgrund der abgeschiedenen Lage nur über eine schmale Straße zu erreichen.

Insgesamt hat uns die Unterkunft gut gefallen und sie entspricht dem Inserat. Wir waren im Dezember/Januar dort (es war kalt und hat viel geregnet), da war es ingesamt doch sehr feucht und auch im Haus trotz E-Heizung eher kalt.

Mooi en rustig gelegen verblijf! Het wakker worden is ontzettend mooi, door het raam zie je de bergen met de roze wolken erboven, of mooie mist. Elke ochtend heeft wat en is anders! Bij aankomst was de ruimte niet erg schoon, maar na contact met de eigenaar waren er binnen een paar uur al 2 lieve schoonmaaksters die zelfs een wijntje en een traditionele koek mee hadden als excuus. Je bent met een half uur in Funchal en Seixal is dichtbij, maar 15 minuten. Waardoor we konden ontbijten aan elk deel van bet eiland, maar ook overal goed bereikbaar en in de buurt waren. Vrijwel alles was een uurtje of minder rijden! Zo hebben we een groot deel van het eiland gezien. Bedankt voor het verblijf!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft um abzuschalten und dem Tourismus zu entkommen. Sehr schöne Landschaft, jedoch ist der Weg zum Haus etwas holprig. Wir hatten den falschen Schlüsselcode erhalten daher hatten wir Schwierigkeiten bei der Ankunft. Die Gastgeberin war aber sehr hilfsbereit und hat sich entschuldigt. Luftfeuchtigkeit in der Unterkunft ist sehr hoch, aber ist überall auf der Insel so. Ansonsten war alles super und wir würden wieder kommen.

Le séjour était plus que parfait ! La vue des montagnes était idyllique ! Nous avons plus qu'adoré ! Les indications pour se rendre ne sont pas évidentes mais une fois rendu on ne veut plus quitter ! D'autant plus que Sao Vicente est calme et tout est magnifique ! Nous reviendrons c'est certain ! Merci aux hôtes !

We had a great stay at Casa Hortensia hosted by OurMadeira. Beautiful house in a stunning and quiet location. 15 minutes drive from the closest town and supermarket but we mainly used it as a base to get away from everything and to relax. Would highly recommend for those looking for a great base to explore walks all over the island (as it takes a max of an hour to get to each side of the island) and to relax in the afternoon. Genuinely felt like a home from home and struggled to say goodbye!

The place is great and we loved the two bathrooms and also the open living space. We had cats visiting us every day which was very cute!

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in toller Lage! Das Haus ist ruhig und idyllisch gelegen, dank der Wegbeschreibung haben wir es auch gefunden (sind zuerst vorbeigefahren, aber da war es auch schon dunkel). Die Straße zum Haus ist recht spannend und etwas holprig, aber kein Problem. Man braucht ein Auto, wenn man dort Urlaub macht. Das Haus ist sehr modern, hell und offen und hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Die Heizung funktioniert gut, und wenn man heizt und lüftet, hat man auch kein Problem mit Feuchtigkeit. Der Garten ist sehr schön angelegt und gepflegt. Morgens kann man wunderbar auf der seitlichen Terrasse die erste Sonne genießen. Der Ausblick ins Tal und auf die Berge ist der Wahnsinn! Beim Haus leben zwei sehr liebe junge Kätzchen (eine weiß-graue und eine weiß-rot-graue). Die weiß-graue ist sehr anhänglich und mag gern auf dem Schoß liegen und gekuschelt werden. Die weiß-rot-graue möchte lieber nur das Köpfchen gestreichelt haben. Beide sind sehr dankbar für etwas Katzenfutter ;-)

This is a beautiful location, you definitely need a car but the air is pure and the views are fabulous. We went in winter and there were spectacular thunder and lightning storms! The house felt warm and secure despite this and it has been prepared to a very high standard of decor and furnishing.

The house felt really spacious and relaxed. We spent a lot of our mornings on the side of the house bathing in the sun. Sometimes clouds get stuck on the mountain but then we just drove a little to find the sun. Also very quiet surroundings, slept very peacefully.

Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gut gefallen. Das Haus ist neu, wunderschön eingerichtet und super sauber. Die Aussicht von der Terrasse auf die Berge ist einfach spektakulär. Uns hat die recht abgelegene Lage in den Bergen sehr gut gefallen. Man hat seine Ruhe und kann die Aussicht in vollen Zügen genießen. Der Check-In hat auch problemlos über eine Schlüsselbox geklappt. Bei der Anreise haben wir zunächst den Eingang nicht gefunden, weil wir einfach Google Maps gefolgt sind und dann neben einer Hecke standen. Man muss dann ein Stück zurückfahren und durch ein Holztor fahren. Diese Info hätte uns auf jeden Fall geholfen, das Haus sofort zu finden. Bezüglich Google Maps: Wenn man von Funchal kommt, wird man aufgefordert von der Hauptstraße links abzubiegen. Diese Möglichkeit gibt es aber nicht (mehr). Wenn man dies ignoriert und einfach weiter geradeaus fährt, berechnet das System die richtige Route.

Schöne Unterkunft in wunderschöner Lage. Die Straßen zur Anfahrt sind etwas holprig und eng, mit gutem Auto aber kein Problem. Insgesamt eine sehr positive Erfahrung.

Our stay in Sao Vicente has been excellent. The house was very cosy and the host is a professional company with very good standards, such as hotel-quality white sheets washed by Covid-19 guidelines. The surroundings are most beautiful, I found myself sitting on the patio and watching the rain come by for the whole morning and not reading a single page, as you have so much to see. The drive is a bit long, but it is worth it (as is the case everywhere on the North side of Madeira). The only thing not in the description is that the land is in fact not owned by the host, but by an extremely cute tuxedo cat ;)

Wunderschönes Häuschen mit tollem Garten und Aussicht auf die Berge. Sehr gut ausgestattet, ruhig gelegen.

Le logement est totalement conforme aux photos, avec deux chambres spacieuses et deux salles de bains, parfait pour deux couples comme nous. La cuisine est bien équipée avec tout ce qu'il faut en ustensiles et vaisselle. Le barbecue mis à disposition a été un vrai plus, nous avons pu passer de super moments sur la terrasse. L'emplacement dans les terres offre une magnifique vue panoramique sur les montagnes, un cadre idéal pour se détendre. Il est cependant nécessaire d'avoir une voiture pour y accéder facilement. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour et recommandons vivement ce logement !

Unser Aufenthalt war wunderbar. Wir haben uns zu jederzeit wie zuhause und sicher gefühlt. Die Unterkunft war mit dem Auto vom Flughafen aus gut zu erreichen und generell konnte man von unserem Standort aus gut andere Sehenswürdigkeiten, Wanderungen, Aussichtspunkte ect erreichen. Die Terrasse sowie der Pool haben uns ebenfalls gut gefallen. Außerdem war Daniel zu jederzeit bei Fragen gut erreichbar und hat schnell geantwortet. Ebenfalls war ein late check-in (3 Uhr) morgens kein Problem. Wir würden das Airbnb jederzeit wieder buchen und können es sehr empfehlen!

a very nice and quiet place, far from all the tourist spots. it's quite in the middle of the island so it's not far to all the nice spots of the island. You definitely need a car to reach it though. we really enjoyed our stay!

Pour le calme du nord de l'île (moins de touristes !) et les nombreuses expéditions vers les villes de la côte, les baignades, et pour ceux qui aiment les marches en montagne. La maison est au milieu des montagnes, dans une zone où il y a d'autres petites résidences mais bien isolée et calme. Voiture indispensable.

Wir hatten eine idyllische Zeit in dem kleinen Haus! Man hat seine ruhe dort oben. Es ist eine sichere Umgebung und nah an einem meu super und einem kleinen Kaffee. Werden gerne wiederkommen.

5-star stay all-around. This airbnb is phenomenally well-done. The photos don't do the landscape justice-it's amazing, don't miss the early morning views here. The local area is stunning, the airbnb is modern and clean inside, and overall we were exceptionally pleased with the stay. This airbnb is well thought-through. Great privacy without feeling too isolated. If you want a remote stay in a gorgeous, authentic setting, and you're down for a little rewarding challenge (the area doesn't have much for food, etc), it's a great stay. The hosts also had 5-star communication.

Beautiful place that is centrally located on the island. Can highly recommend!
