A great experience, in a superb apartment 5*****
Perfect location, very comfortable. Had everything you need. Right in the centre of funchal with parking close by. There is street noise from the restaurants around 6am and until 11pm but we liked it,added atmosphere.
Tudo me fez sentir que era o local adequado para uma semana de trabalho no Funchal. A um curto passeio a pé do centro e nas proximidades de transportes públicos.
The apartment is located in the Rua de Santa Maria in Funchal's old town, where one tavern is lined up after the other, which involves a respective noise level in the evening. This is a fact, not a criticism, one has to factor it in. But the place is right in the middle of things. There are several good localities like the excellent "in-house" Taberna Ruel in the immediate proximity. The same applies for shopping facilities, including Mercado dos Lavradores. The equipment, especially the kitchen, left nothing to be desired. The beach promenade and the cable car are less than 100m away. I would book again.
If you're a bit of a night owl and love the hustle and bustle of the busy Old Town, this little apartment is perfect. Up some stairs through a door literally between two cafes on one of the quaint old streets, the space is clean and has everything needed for a lovely stay. As it's situated right in the heart of the Old Town, there is street noise audible from the restaurants below, but if you're in town to eat dinner and drink wine all evening this shouldn't be an issue. Great service, can't fault the location at all... though the bed is quite firm so the only thing I would say is it probably wouldn't be suitable if you have back issues and require a soft mattress.
A localização é excelente, mesmo na baixa do Funchal mas á noite por ser uma rua de restaurantes o barulho até á 1 da manhã é insuportável .
