If you are looking for the best the Madeira seaside and countryside has to offer, you have found the perfect place for your holiday.
This recently spacious refurbished 2-Bedroom apartment is located on the beautiful bay of Madalena do Mar, reputed to have the best climate on the island, and is close to cafés, restaurants and across the road from the promenade built alongside the beach. At the end of the promenade you will find a sandy beach and the traditional Dona Maria Bar, well know to the locals as the place to be.
Sea-view is had from the sitting area and both bedrooms. Outdoor dining overlooking the sea is available from the living room terrace, perfect for those evening meals whilst watching the sun go down. The Master bedroom features a king-size bed and leads to its own private balcony with sea-view and deck-chairs. The second bedroom has two single beds and sea-view, and shares the family bathroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped and leads to the laundry room.
Although small, Madalena do Mar has a good selection of cafés and restaurants, in the spread along the bay, village and promenade, all within easy walking distance and is the perfect combination of winter or summer sun with easy access to the mountains and Madeira countryside via the expressway. The Levada Nova, very popular with walkers, passes just above the village.

There are walks around the hills of Ponta do Sol and easy access to the plateau of Paul da Serra, with its many levada walks, makes this villa perfectly located for walking in Madeira and for enjoying a lovely holiday surrounded by the beautiful Madeira countryside.

Location Description:

Madalena do Mar is known for its beautiful bay and for having the best climate in Madeira - as well as reputedly producing the best bananas on the island. Although it is a small and peaceful (the main road circumvents the village), it offers a good selection of cafés and restaurants within easy walking distance. The promenade leads to the sandy beach by the cliff and also has a direct sea access via a pontoon. A well known Levada passes above the village and provides great walking facilities. The resort of Calheta, 6 Km away, with its man-made golden beaches is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a good choice of bars and restaurants. There is a handful of boutique shops and a good branded supermarket. 5 Km east is the picturesque and beautifully maintained town of Ponta do Sol, with beach facilities and some trendy bars. Funchal is reached an easy 30-minute drive along the expressway and it only takes 50 minutes to reach the airport.

<p><span>Our stay at this apartment was just beautiful! Sonia is a very caring and very nice host, who is really putting a lot of effort into making the guests stay a s good as possible! This also includes detailed information in advance regarding e.g. car rental tips, trip suggestions and a useful description of how to get to the apartment by car. The apartment itself was very clean, very cosy and well equipped. We found everything we needed for cooking, washing and can´t think of anything missing. So Sonia, thank you once again for making us feel very welcome and offer this nice place to us for our holidays! We enjoyed it a lot and you gave us the perfect base for a wonderful stay!</span></p>

Peu importe la barrière de la langue, avec Sonia et son beau sourire, pas de problème. Un très joli appartement décoré avec goût qui donne sur un merveilleux coucher de soleil sur la mer, de quoi vous donner l'envie de ne plus quitter Madère.</span></p>

We had a wonderful time in Sonia's apartment and this is a trip to remember as we adopted a dog which was staying on the parking lot in front of this place. Sonia was extremely kind and helpful . <p><span>The owner Sonia is AMAZING. I told her I was going to come back just to visit her. Her family was sooooo sweet I can't stop singing her praise. The apartment is right across from the ocean and behind you are the moutians. The area is very quiet and relaxing if you want bars (some are walkable near the apartmentis) but Funchal is about 30 minutes away. As Sonia recommended and I agreed rent a car. You can see a lot of the attractions on your own without paying a tourist company. Awesome property and property owner.</span></p>

Petit paradis!
Appartement idéalement situé en bord de mer (promenade au pied de l'appart, plage de sable noir à 2min à pied), très propre et parfaitement équipé. Les 2 terrasses sont idéales pour profiter de la vue. La propriétaire a été très accueillante et disponible ( elle nous a offert du vin lors de notre arrivée, des figues du jardin lors de notre séjour),et nous a donné de très bonnes indications sur les environs (supermarché, lieux à visiter...) C'était parfait!
