Fabulous villa in Funchal, panoramic sea-view, heated pool | BelAir

We loved the stay at the villa. Immediately upon arrival, we have felt like at home. The owners were very friendly and fast in replies, they even allowed an earlier check-in. Rooms were spacious as well as a living room so it's a great stay for a group of people. The indoors and outdoor views looked amazing, especially at night - you can see the beatiful Funchal. Recommend 10/10 and we will definitely want to come back.

We spent three weeks at the Belair Villa in March 2023. Our experience with the team at Our Madeira and with the Belair Villa could not have been better! All of our dealings with Norberta and Antonio at Our Madeira were friendly, professional and helpful. They were quick to answer any questions we had, respond to emails and even facilitated a rental car for us. All costs were as expected and there were no surprises in any of our dealings. The villa itself has everything you could expect to feel completely at home. The kitchen was especially well-equipped and included thoughtful touches like dishwasher pods, salad spinner and hard-boiled egg slicer. The outdoor space is spectacular with a beautiful, big pool, mature landscaping, amazing views and plenty of furniture. The barbecue area was incredible with a large charcoal grill and running water. The villa is well-located with plenty of conveniences within walking distance and very convenient access by car to downtown Funchal and other areas of the island. Thank-you to the team at Our Madeira for such an amazing experience and to the friendly people of Madeira for a warm welcome to their beautiful island!

January 2023: Villa BelAir was very much as described in the pictures - see for yourself. The views are even better in real life. We were 2 families with 4 adults and 4 small children. The villa is very spacious and the garden and the terraces are spacious and the bbq, outdoor eating area, terraces, the pool, etc are all suitable for a large family (or two in our case). The location is somewhat uphill from the city center. If you want to walk its an hour or so - a bit more uphill, less down. Also the Villa´s micro location is on top of a very steep hill. Not recommended if you have movement-disabilities (whole of Madeira island not recommended). If you are relatively fit, its not a bad walk to town really and the bus and the taxi are very easy to use (just use google maps and public transport tab for the right bus). The sidewalks are narrow in many places and a double-width baby-pram is NOT recommended and its a bit annoying to use even just normal width pram (again all of Madeira). The busses had always room for the prams. There are supermarkets, nice, more local, restaurants and a moderate size shopping center nearby. At the nearby viewpoint there´s a small playground for children. Coming with a car to the villa is slightly tricky, if you don´t drive much. There´s a very steep incline on the road and the gate is a bit narrow. A small SUV would be best for the entrance (as well as generally driving around Madeira as all of Madeira is rather hilly and there are plenty of steep hills, narrow streets, badly parked cars and so on). A car is not necessary at this villa, at least full time, but of course you want one for some time to see the rest of the island. If all of this sounded like negative, its really not, look at the pictures and the general description, they are accurate and this is a 5 star rating. OurMadeira crew kept close contact via email before the trip and we were in contact many times during our stay, just great service. PS. There is a Villa being constructed at the neighboring plot (5 meters from the border). The husk (the walls) are up, they were now doing mostly cement-work. Really does not look like it will be ready any time soon. There is another construction site behind BelAir (uphill, on the other side of street), some kind of outdoor-construction, at least rail-building on that side and maybe a pool or something, this could be ready rather soon, but who knows. There are workers from 8am to 6 pm and of course there will be some noise. How much is difficult to judge, during our stay it was not too bad, but we were also mostly out during days. OurMadeira staff contacted us before the stay and informed us of the construction so we were aware of it. I think it showed well in the accomodation price too and we were very satisfied with our stay.

Wir waren Ende September / Anfang Oktober 2022 mit 5 erwachsenen Personen im "Bel Air" auf Urlaub. Die Aussicht über die ganze Stadt ist klasse, wie auch die Sonnenuntergänge. Das Beste an dieser Lokation ist der riesige Pool - er hat die halbe Länge eines typischen öffentlichen Schwimmbades in Deutschland. Wir haben den Pool täglich zum "richtigen Schwimmen" genutzt. Zweimal pro Woche kommt der "Pool Expert" und reinigt und wartet den Pool und justiert die Einstellungen. Aber auch das Haus selbst ist groß und bietet sehr viel Platz. Wir haben jeden Tag in der riesigen Küche gekocht und dort auch gegessen. Alternativ gibt es im Wohnzimmer nochmal einen großen Tisch und Stühle, und auch draußen am Pool einen weiteren, an denen jeweils viel Platz zum gemeinsamen Essen und anderen Aktivitäten ist. Es gibt auch einen fest installierten Grill. Das dahinter liegende Badezimmer zur Benutzung nach dem Poolbesuch hat kein warmes Wasser. Alles ist groß, gut gepflegt. Der grüne Garten wird nachts automatisch gewässert und hat eine Reihe exotischer Pflanzen. Vor dem Küchenausgang ist ein kleiner Kräutergarten. Es gibt überdachte Stellplätze für zwei Autos, und im Hof wäre Platz für ein oder zwei weitere Autos. Innen gibt es auf den verschiedenen Ebenen insgesamt zwei große Fernseher. Der in der oberen Etage hat einen Playstation 4 angeschlossen. Wer die nutzen will, sollte sich vor dem Urlaub sicherstellen, dass er einen entsprechenden Account beim Playstation Network hat. Es gibt überall auf dem Grundstück eine sehr gute WLAN-Verbindung (Repeater am Pool), so dass immer eine sehr gute Internetverbindung besteht. Das Haus ist so auch als Lokation für Remote Working geeignet. Es gibt 4 Schlafzimmer. Im oberen Stockwerk zwei, die das Badezimmer dazwischen liegen haben. D.h. dieses Badezimmer hat zwei Türen mit Zugängen von zwei Seiten, was mir weniger gefallen hat. Das Schlafzimmer auf der mittleren Ebene ist das größte und hat sein eigenes Badezimmer dahinter. Neben (nicht hinter) dem Schlafzimmer in der unteren Ebene ist ein weiteres Badezimmer, das auch als "Gästetoilette" für den Wohn- und Essbereich dient. Von den 4 Schlafzimmern hat das südliche in der oberen Etage zwei separate Betten, die anderen 3 haben jeweils ein Doppelbett. Die Betten sind sehr gut. Ich habe schon länger nicht mehr so gut geschlafen! Die Zusammenstellung der Möbel und Designobjekte hat uns schmunzeln lassen ;-) Der Whirlpool auf der Dachterrasse funktioniert nur, wenn die Batterie der Funkfernbedienung aufgeladen ist! Gleich bei der Ankunft prüfen, ob das funktioniert. Wenn man mit offenen Fenstern schläft, hört man in den südwärts gerichteten Schlafzimmern manchmal laute Motorräder auf der Autobahn, die ein km tiefer liegt. In den nordwärts gerichteten Schlafzimmern hört man nachts die Poolheizung (Wärmepumpe). Je wärmer der Pool geheizt wird, desto länger läuft diese natürlich. Nördlich des Grundstücks wird gerade ein neues Nachbarhaus gebaut. Von dort wird vermutlich der Pool und das Grundstück gut einsehbar sein. Im Moment ist deshalb ein provisorischer Sichtschutz angebracht. Wir waren mit dem Haus sehr zufrieden und hatten während des Aufenthaltes mit der Hausverwaltung von "Our Madeira" nur zum Ein- und zum Auszug Kontakt. Sie haben sofort auf meine Messenger-Nachricht geantwortet. Die Betreuung per eMail von der Buchung bis zur Anreise war erstklassig -- inklusive Vermittlung der Autovermietung. Ein großes Lob von uns dafür! Wir empfehlen das Haus "Bel Air" und den Gastgeber "Our Madeira" weiter.

Everything was absolutely fabulous. We had everything we needed on the spot. Warm pool and jacuzzi. Kitchen with all the utensils you need: big fridge with a freezer, microwave, oven, washing machine and a dryer. Spacious rooms. Great place for family with kids or/and group of friends. Our hosts helped us with transfer and car rental. Didn't have to worry about a thing. Also: beautiful garden and the view... Loved it.

Great home in Funchal! Not walking distance to the port but a 10 minute drive. We had a family reunion/ wedding with 8 adults and all felt the beds and room configurations were great for all. Beautiful pool and yard for hanging out. Kitchen is big and has most of what you need for family dinners. We had great responce and communication with Our Madeira our hosts, would stay again!

Estadia perfeita. A começar na excecional comunicação com os anfitriões, sempre prestáveis e com informações precisas. Ajudaram-nos também com o rent-a-car, que correu igualmente muito muito bem. A casa é perfeita: dos quartos, aos espaços comuns, à incrível piscina e ao alpendre. Muito bem equipada para cozinhar. A localização, mesmo no Funchal, também é uma grande mais valia, tal como as vistas deslumbrantes. Sossego total à noite. Efetivamente decorre uma obra mesmo em frente, mas nunca nos incomodou (e temos uma criança de 3 anos). Tb me pareceu que nos próximos meses fica concluída. Recomendaremos sem dúvida aos nossos amigos e é enorme a probabilidade de voltarmos a reservá-la para nós sempre qur regressmos aos Funchal. Obrigado por tudo.

Ein super Haus mit großem Pool und einem wunderschönen Garten. Wir kommen wieder !!!

We had a beautyful stay in the great villa. Everything you need is there, complete kitchen, nice bathrooms, everythings clean, great area around, about 4km to citycenter, easy to reach with uber or to walk. Kind stuff and a nice view overthe town, and the sea.

The house is big and comfy. An amazing swimming pool, and great outside area. However, it is worth mentioning that there is a house being built next door, which makes it terribly noisy. Building works are months from being finished. This should be advertised.

Out of 6 airbnbs we've stayed at in Madeira, this has been our favourite. The house is so well equipped, clean and the views are amazing.

Wij verbleven met 6 volwassenen en dat is heel goed te doen. We hadden allemaal onze eigen verdieping. Heerlijke tuin met heel groot zwembad. Huis ligt in een rustige buurt aan het eind van de weg. Fantastisch uitzicht. Makkelijk plaats voor 4 auto's met eigen toegangs hek. Zelfs de bbq heeft een eigen huis. De wc en de douche bij het zwembad zijn een uitkomst. De foto's op de site kloppen met wat je krijgt. Een aanrader, met klem.

Very beautiful villa. The pictures are saying everything. Very spacious rooms. Big pool with great garden and a fantastic view of the coastline and the harbor of Funchal. Shops and restaurants are nearby. The neighborehood is very quite. There is space fore 4 cars. There are enough chairs and sun beds on the terras. Even the terras on the first floor have chairs and beds. Very clean and in every room are airco's with remote controls. Big kitchen for breakfast with 6 people is no problem. The toilet and shower by the pool is very handy.

Close enough to walk to Funchal but also lots of options for bus and taxi. Good local amenities, lovely park and shops nearby. Villa is great with 4 good double rooms, a large kitchen and great sitting/dining room. We loved the garden's and pool area. The pool is a good size for swimming and we paid extra to heat. Can also walk to local Lavada's and promenade walk to local fishing village recommended. Funchal has a great selection of restaurants

Дом хороший. Очень. Местоположение если с машиной на 10. Есть 4 парковочных места. 4 спальни 3 туалета и 1 на улице. Верхний этаж туалет и ванная между двумя спальнями 1 туалет и душ на 2 спальни с 2 разными входами. Мастерспальня на среднем этаже. И маленькая спальня с выходом на улицу и с "общим" туалетом на нижнем. Т.е. будут обделенные если не одной семьёй. Спальни не равнозначные.

Comfortable large and well designed mansion. Ideal for 6 people or even 8. Suggest a car is essential but note that house entrance is on a steep hill but good parking inside driveway. Excellent restaurants but all require car or taxi ride. Wonderful Garden and terraces and impressive swimming pool. Great management team very helpful. Yes we would love to come back

Only a few minutes drive to the centre of Funchal, the property is well situated with stunning panoramic viewings over Funchal and the surrounding coastline - making sun-downers on the balcony an absolute pleasure. The house itself is very modern with all the modern appliances you'd hope for, and the layout and decor of the house is tasteful and contemporary (not to mention the showers which are superb). We spent many evenings BBQ-ing espetadas by the pool and enjoying the lights of the city and cruise ships as they came and went. There is a very nice restaurant very close to the house too. When we wanted to have a drink we would also catch Ubers into Funchal, these were roughly €8 each way. The hosts are very friendly and responsive. It is really a home away from home.

This is a beautiful house with gorgeous views. The hosts were thoughtful, responsive, and provided generous extras that made our visit even more memorable. We'd come back anytime!

Excellent view over the city and landscape (near Pico de Barcelos). House is not for "poor legged" with 3 levels and a lot of stairs. If you want the hot tube ready on arrival, remember to ask it befeore (takes 24h to heat up). Ask how to run the latest model of washmashine. Big dinner plates are too big for dishwasher, use the small ones. House was clean, well decorated, beds ok - but as a scandinavian person, I'm more focused on practical, usefull things (such as never enough plugs for phones, laptops etc equipment)

Amazing place, amazing views and amazing host. Couldn't fault a single thing!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Norberta was there to show us the house when we arrivered and we felt welcome. The view and the pool is amazing. We used the outside grill all nights while enjoying the twinkeling city lights. The house is in the city, convenient as grocery store is nearby. The hot tub didnt work properly after a few days, but someone came to repair it the same day (even on a Sunday). Our Madeira was quick and friendly with replying, so that was very convenient! We had an amazing time in the villa.
