Height of luxury, stunning spacious villa with large indoor pool | Villa Luzia

Great villa, just as described and excellent hosts. Very clean and lovely comfortable beds. The villa was very well equipped and the pool and games room were great fun. Would definitely book again if we return to Madeira.

Fantastic house! We were six adults and four kids and had more space than we could ever need. Clean house with all facilities. Close to the city center but steep hills!

We visited for a week in January 2022 and were a family of 5 adults. This is an exceptional villa, very spacious, comfortable, well equipped and beautifully furnished. The games area is huge and the very large swimming pool was fun and we used this every day. The terrace is also large and well equipped with table, chairs and sun loungers, and has lovely views over Funchal and the sea. The walk down to the main area of town is steep and about 10-15 mins walk so depending on how fit you are for the walk back up, you may want to take the car! We never had a problem parking in one of the car parks. No hesitation in recommending a holiday here.

This house is huge and really well equipped with the most stunning views over Funchal. It is an easy 15-minute walk into the city and a harder walk back uphill in the heat! The swimming pool is beautiful. Water is chilly but actually perfect as a cool-off. The beds are very comfortable. Ideally, the house would have air conditioning units in the bedrooms. We needed to leave all the doors and windows open but ended up getting bitten by mosquitoes. The house isn't totally quiet but remember that you are in the city! Our Madeira do a good job welcoming you to the property and are on hand with quick responses to any questions. We can confidently recommend this house to those wanted an upmarket sophisticated rental.

This is a fabulous villa. All the fixtures and fittings are top quality. There is every assessory and kitchen aid that you could possibly ask for! We counted up 10 separate toilets, so no shortage of wc's!! It took us a couple of days to find our way around the place. The pool complex and games floor are marvellous and kept our 3 (all in their 20's) occupied. Our only disappointment was that the villa was not fully airconditioned. We had searced for 'air con' on the filters in airbnb and this villa came up, and we assumed that it would be air conditioned, but actually there was just 1 unit in the office. This may not be a problem most of the year, but we had a heat wave in August there and the villa became very hot. Otherwise though we could not fault the property and certainly recommend staying there.

Oh my goodness, where does one start? This villa is truly exceptional and caters for every possible need. Suitable for a large family gathering, one could never be bored, given the large games room and indoor swimming pool. Bathed in sunshine most of the day, we spent almost the whole time outdoors and ate outside on the days that we didn't go to a restaurant. Very clean and comfortable throughout; convenient for the centre of Funchal (an easy stroll downhill) and taxi back, for all of €6. For anyone who doesn't know Madeira - go! There is so much to do and unbelievable value for money. We hope to return to Villa Luzia.

I stayed here with a group of friends for a week and it was absolutely gorgeous! I'm sure I echo the opinions of many before me but, honestly, the pictures do not do this house justice. It is HUGE, and so clean and gorgeously maintained. The pool (albeit slightly chilly, not exactly like relaxing in a big bath!) was lovely and clean and came complete with pool loungers, towels and games/inflatables! All of the bedrooms were stunning and most had their own equally-stunning en-suite bathrooms, with plenty of spare towels. The whole house is furnished incredibly and is just a joy to live in. The laundry room has its own washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron, clothes horse, and also contains instruction manuals for every electrical item imaginable in the house (very handy for working out the coffee machines and dishwasher)! The hosts met us to check in and ran through all the house instructions, and took their time to provide a wealth of information about the local area, including sightseeing recommendations and restaurant suggestions - not to mention a bottle of wine and fresh bread and tea! The house itself is situated ideally for walks into town and back (you might want to complete a hill endurance exercise programme before your time here! The hills on the island are immense!), and the majority of best tourist attractions are no more than a forty minute drive from the place. Long story short - perfect accommodation, wonderful efficient communication, easy check-in and check-out, great help with car rental, 10/10 would recommend!

Its difficult not exaggerate the superlatives here. The house offers beautifully decorated spaces for anything from a relaxed pool party to a formal evening. Very private suites/bedrooms with the best beds imaginable beds, and private balconies. Stunning views of the bay of Funchal from floor level and all bedrooms. Huge games room with billiards, table tennis, etc. One of the few indoor pools of Madeira with direct underground access from the main house, allowing comfortable usage year-round. Walking distance from the center, and a good distance from the busy tourist areas.

The Villa Luzia was truly amazing. Our party settled in and thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities of the Villa. Looking forward to returning again in June 2020 and hopefully, again in 2021.

a stunning villa with spectacular views over the town and harbour that had every facility you could need.The pool house being the standout feature .A pity there were no shops near but the town main town is only 15 mins walk away and a 6 euro taxi fide will get you and your shopping back up the steep hill.The bus stop is only a few steps away and the bus ride to the top is an experience on its own. The Monte palace gardens are not to be missed or sitting in a harbour side bar to watch a cruise ship dock. For the more adventurous there are great levada walks and trips through the hills to the north of the island. Maybe a little too well furnished for any but the very best behaved children to be let loose in.

If you are looking for a luxury accommodation when visiting Madeira this is it. Villa Luzia is a house with a wow-factor and includes everything you need for a perfect holiday. I loved the spacious rooms, the pool house, the comfortable beds and the breakfast area outside the kitchen with full view over Funchal. Madeira is such a beautiful island with wonderful levada walks, nice people and a cosy atmosphere down town. Also excellent service from Linda and the crew. Thanks!

We had our best holiday ever in this excellent villa. So spacious, luxurious and comfortable in every way. We enjoyed the garden, the pool house and the beautiful views over Funchal and the Atlantic sea. Even if the charming city centre is just a short walk away the surroundings of the house is tranquil and very relaxing. We are planning to come back soon.

The villa is extremely well appointed with everything you would need for a holiday of two families totalling 10. With 6 older children (17- 22yrs) we were close enough to the night life for them, and far enough away for the adults to enjoy the views from the villa over looking the sea. The villa was extremely spacious with more than enough space for us all and the games room was perfect for team competition, so great fun!

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. We found everything that we needed for a wonderful family holiday. The villa was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented. There was plenty of space inside the house and as we were three families there was still plenty of room . The bedrooms were very comfortable with luxury matresses and bedding. We made use of the swimming pool and there were plenty of toys for the children to play with in the pool.[the pool was a little cool] . We found the information provided by the rental company to be correct and Norbetta from the company was excellent she met us at the agreed times and always responded to our emails promptly I would have no hesitation in recommending this property or company to a friend or relative based on my experience with them. Norbetta also found a cook for us and this proved very successful. The only thing we had a slight problem with was pulling out on to the steep road when leaving the property but we soon overcame this having someone keep a look out for us to ensure it was safe. This is a marvelous house for visiting Madeira! So spacious & confortable. And the beds...oh the beds! Scrumptious! The views of the city & the water were fantastic. It's was such a pleasure to wake up to that view daily. The house is wonderfully equipped from kitchen to bathrooms to game room. We were two families with several young adults & no one got in anyone's way. The location was great to walk into the city or grab a cab home if it was late. I could not imagine a better place to stay for a visit to Madeira!

Van alle gemakken voorzien, heerlijke bedden, huis nog mooier dan in de beschrijving, brandschoon. Grote benedenruimte met poolbiljart, tafeltennistafel etc. Prachtig zwembad, fantastisch terras met adembenemend uitzicht. Bovendien een geweldige service voor en tijdens ons verblijf door Norberta, Carolina en Linda van Our Madeira. Op loopafstand van het centrum (wel steil), erg leuk stadje. Kortom een vakantie om nooit meer te vergeten. We waren met z'n achten van 2 tot 63 jaar. Iedereen heeft alleen maar genoten.

The web site does not do justice to the space of the site, or the sense of seclusion, overlooking the harbour. We found it difficult to get the car through the gate initially, but after a few times this becomes less of a problem. Walked down to Funchal a number of times, only walked up once, next time we went to the market, got a taxi up to the house for 5 Euros including a tip - taxis everywhere, including just outside Supermarket. Is there a downside? Some traffic noise in the early evening, and the surrounding dogs can be a problem in the evening while they settle down. Understand property is on the market for Euros 2.25M, which gives you an idea of the extent and quality of the property - it may not be available for let after this, so take the opportunity now. Backup from Norberta (understand she is the agent for the property) was excellent! Highlight of the trip? Lunch on the beach near Cabo Girao, only accessible by cable car. Good food, good atmosphere.

The villa was everything you could ask for and very true to the pictures. It had beautiful views out over the sea but within a 15 minute walk of the town and excellent choice of restaurants. The Villa itself was massive, well thought through with everything you could need to have a very comfortable stay, it was spotless and thoughtfully decorated. The swimming pool and general facilities were fabulous. We had a great welcome from Linda and Norberta, there was a useful guide with villa instructions, useful maps and guide books available and an appreciated welcome food pack. All in all nothing you could fault and we look forward to returning in the future.

House is even better in person if you can believe that. We are pretty fussy and the house could not have been better or cleaner. Even the 15 and 19 year orders with us were not bored.

We (4 adults and 4 kids) had a wonderful stay at this outstanding property. The house is equipped with all you can imagine and even more: eg huge playing room with pool billard, table tennis, chess, cards table, etc., a fantastic swimming pool house, in all bedrooms luxury and very comfortable beds, wonderful views. A big thank you to Norbert and Linda who took perfectly care of us.

We stayed at this villa with my parents in November and we were very pleased with our choice. It looks exactly like it does in the pictures. All of the rooms are lovely and it has great facilities including a games room and a pool. The views are stunning and it is either a short(ish) walk to town or a very cheap taxi ride away. If we are to come back to Madeira we would book this property again.

We stayed at Villa Luzia for a week in November, and it is simply stunning. The views from the decking over the sea and city are fabulous, the photographs do not do it justice. The facilities are fantastic, we made full use of the kitchen and the BBQ room. The games room with pool table, table tennis were great fun. The pool is very well maintained and clean, as is the whole villa. All the bedrooms are en-suite, spacious and beautifully decorated. The villa is located close to the town, walking down hill to the town centre is easy, but we would recommend a taxi back up the hill, as it is very steep. For anyone thinking of visiting Madeira, Villa Luzia is the perfect base for exploring the city and island, and we would thoroughly recommend it.

Exemplary property and service which made our stay in Madeira unforgettable. We all loved the pool and the children were able to master pool, table tennis and table football in the most luxuirious surroundings. I have absolutely to hesitation in recommending this villa to the most discerning of guests
