the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from
the time the heating is turned on.

Booking notes
The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the
property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of
adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements
apply should additional people join you for any length of
time.
A Security Deposit of 500€ or £500 is required in cash on arrival.
This is returned on departure should there be no significant
breakages or damage to the villa.
To secure your reservation, a deposit of 30% is required, or the
full amount if within 8 weeks or arrival, and the balance is due 8
weeks prior to arrival. Should you cancel up to 8 weeks prior to
arrival only the deposit is non-refundable, and within this period
the full amount.

The advertised prices are generally based on a 6-person
occupancy.
For additional persons above the base occupancy, there is a
supplement of 98,00€ per person per week.
Optional pool heating to 24ºC, per week, payable on arrival in cash, €150. A supplement of 50€ per week applies for every extra degree up to a maximum of 26ºC

We. as a family, have for many years stayed in Villas/Holiday properties in locations including the USA, Canada, The Algarve, Tunisia, France, Cyprus, Spain/Majorca, The Channel Islands, North and South of Ireland and, of course, Madeira. This Villa is the ultimate in terms of the architecture, the layout, the furnishings, ( with a few reservations), the facilities and the location. It is extremely clean and well maintained. The Lounge is literally in the sky and provides stupendous views over Funchal. I cannot praise Colleta enough - she was a star ! Call with a problem and she was there almost immediately and it was attended to or advice was given in the most charming and helpful manner. Whilst the furnishings and equipment were first class there were a number of very small matters which, as a 'semi'- retired Architect and Interior Designer, I consider deserve attention. The very large and heavy doors to the pool and patio, the patio toilet, and from the 3rd floor corridor to the laundry room would benefit from having handles fitted, both inside and outside. Similarly the sliding windows/doors to the 3rd floor bedrooms and, in particular the lounge doors require handles to make them easier to open and close. There are no small shelves in the showers in which to put soaps and shampoos. The bedrooms would benefit from having a small chair. There are myriads of switches for lights, windows blinds and curtains. The inclusion of a guide as to the function and location of the switches would have been a great help. ( Perhaps in more than one language ?). The ladies in my party complained about the poor lighting around the mirrors in the bedrooms which were not directional and which didn't help in applying make-up ! Similarly there are no illuminated shaving mirrors for men with an adjacent electrical plug for electrical shavers. ! I would have liked a pool thermometer to convince the ladies in my party that the water was not cold !!! Please do not consider these observations as being destructive they are intended to be both constructive and helpful. In conclusion I would not hesitate to recommend the Sky Lounge Residence to family, friends and anyone who asks. Thank you for making our vacation as 'One to remember !! We'll be back again. A fantastic villa beautifully laid out, lovely gardens & pool with great views over the harbour. Would be even better if: More than one tea towel provided. Sufficient toilet rolls/bin bags etc. supplied for the duration. It's a minor irritation but considering the cost, just add €50 to the rental and cover those basic requirements. I am sure that anyone prepared to pay the required rental for this villa, would still book it for a few euros more. Having read previous reviews, would totally agree about the need for instructions for the "gadgets". Nonetheless, we had a great week and would definitely recommend this villa to others. Would also recommend using Our Madeira car rental option. Fully inclusive package with no pressure for any additional payments for full insurance/additional driver etc. Very efficient and effective process.

Great spot, very efficient and polite host. A little noisy in the evening with dogs and traffic but was quiet in the night time. Would definitely return.
Ein architektonisches Meisterwerk! Im vierten Stock befindet sich das grosse Wohnzimmer mit Esstisch für 10 Personen und offener Küche. Eine riesiger Balkon mit kleiner Loungeecke und einem Tisch für 8 Personen. Wundervoller Blick auf den Hafen von Funchal. Die Küche ist gut eingerichtet u.a. mit Backofen, Mikrowelle, Dampfgarer, Kühlschrank, Gefrierschrank und Spülmaschine. Eine separate Toilette befindet sich auf der gleichen Ebene. Ebenso Zugang zum großen Pool mit Garten/Terrasse, Grillmöglichkeit, Tisch, Liegen und einer weitereren separaten Toilette. Im 3. Stock sind 4 Schlafzimmer, jeweils mit eigenem Bad. Die Suite mit großem Doppelbett ist großzügig mit Badewanne und Dusche und separater Terrasse zur Straße. Diese ist stark befahren. Die anderen Schlafzimmer haben Zugang zu einer weiteren Terrasse. Ein Zimmer hat 2 Einzelbetten mit einem Duschbad mit Fenster. Die beiden verbleibenden Zimmer haben ein Doppelbett, die Duschbäder haben kein Fenster. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Es gibt genügend Handtücher, ebenso Bademäntel. Im zweiten Stock gibt es ein großes Arbeitszimmer mit separater Toilette und ein weiteres Schlafzimmer mit separatem Bad. Im ersten Stock ist ein Spielzimmer (Billard, Kicker) ebenfalls mit separater Toilette und Zugang zu einem weiteren Garten. Darunter befindet sich eine grosse Garage. Das Haus hat einen Aufzug, was sehr gut ist, um die Einkäufe für 10 Personen in die Küche zu transportieren. Das Haus liegt ca 20 min zu Fuss vom Markt entfernt. Der Rückweg ist steil aber machbar. Ein Taxi kostet 6,50€ vom Markt zurück. Alternativ könnte man den Bus nehmen, der fast vor dem Haus hält. Wir kamen mitten in der Nacht an. Susana hat uns empfangen. Sie kümmert sich toll um die Gäste. Sie hat uns herzlich willkommen und uns bis 4 Uhr morgens geduldig alles gezeigt. Sie war immer mit Tipps und Hilfe zur Stelle. Sie hat uns eine tolle günstige Mietwagen Agentur vermittelt. An einem Tag hatten wir Probleme mit dem Strom.
We had a wonderful stay at the Sky Lounge, this was a perfect house for 5 couples as it was spacious and the beautiful pool area perfect for a wonderful afternoon of swimming and barbecuing . The views from the balcony were stunning and we really enjoyed the open plan layout from the kitchen. There are switches and gadgets for just about everything and though everything was explained it would be nice to have a booklet with information to refer back to. Although town is close the walk back up is very steep, we had a car so we didn't walk much but some of us also used the bus which is very convenient and the bus stop is very close to the house. All in all we really enjoyed this house. The only issue was that the 5th bedroom was really small, with no cupboards to pack away clothes which was not so nice for the 5th couple but the rest of the house more then made up for it.
A stunning contemporary house, incredibly well designed. The view from the huge terrace of the Atlantic is stunning. The main garden area with very large swimming pool is wonderful. The pool is well designed. The very large sitting / dining area is very comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent. Simply a perfect house. The property is very well located, a pleasant walk to Funchal centre and whilst the return is walkable, a very economic taxi journey back. We hope to return in the future.
This property is really exceptional. Well equipped and clean. The photos show the reality. Carlota, the property manager, was super friendly, attentive and helpful. There was nothing to complain about.

TOP Villa near the very Center of Funchal. We loved our stay , the owner seems to be an architecture fanatic/ lover and everything is top notch when it comes to the style point of view, even when this means you have to look hard to find a plug for your appliances :) The villa is huge , the living room has wonderful views of Funchal city and the pool area is one of the nicest that you can find on this planet , the pool is huge and can be heated for a fee. With this villa you can't go wrong! Just go !
