We had wonderful days at OurMadeira - Babosas Village. Decor perfect. Everything is very clean. Staff really friendly and accommodating. The location is a bit out of the way. Busy with tourists during the day, but in the evening very quiet. We ate several times in the restaurant. Very tasty. We would stay there again anytime.
We had the superior double room with kitchen. The apartment was very spacious and clean, the wardrobe huge. On request, we got a topper without any problems, as the bed was too hard for us. Convenient: there are 2 tuppers in the fridge. Attention: The approach was partly adventurous, as Google Navi often sent us against a one-way street. Steep access to the car park, but that's normal in Madeira. ���� The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. There is no breakfast buffet, but everything from eggs to sausage, cheese, fruit, cakes and changing little things (frying apple, porridge, yogurt, warm tomato mushroom vegetables) is offered and is brought abundantly to the table. The centre of Funchal is 15 minutes by car, a larger supermarket is about 10 minutes away.
Breakfast on the terrace was just amazing.
- The room was very large and clean with a small, well-equipped kitchen, a shared terrace as well as private balcony. - The location is excellent, in Monte, close to the cable car with a direct connection to Funchal's city centre (but 16 euros both ways). You may want to prefer bus 21 or 22 which depart next to the hotel and charge 1.95 euros for reaching the city centre in 10 to 15 minutes. It is also well located if you like hiking, since you are on the way from Funchal to the famous hike starting from Ariero and close to more local hiking routes. - The view from the balcony/terrace as well as from the restaurant is incredible. - The food! Try the local dishes and ask the staff if they would not have some squids or octopus (both highly recommended) hidden somewhere. They also serve a wide range of pizzas and pasta if you travel with children who prefer more 'conventional' dishes. - Breakfast is exceptional (tea or coffee, cheese, ham, a plate of fresh fruit, eggs, vegetables, toasts, a piece of cake, etc.) - The staff are very nice and do everything they can to find solutions and make you feel good. They even offered to drive me to Ariero for my day hike (30 minutes away by car) without charging me anything! - The value for money remains excellent. Prices are still very reasonable, considering the quality of service.
When I first arrived I was greeted by Hugo who was very nice and welcoming. Hugo greeted us with a drink which was a pleasant surprise. He then showed us the attached restaurant, Pátio das Babosas, which is also an amazing place. After he showed us to our apartment which overlooks downtown Funchal. With the amazing views and close proximity to the cable car, Monte Palace gardens, restaurant, and wicker basket toboggan ride, you couldn't ask for a better place to stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Madeira.

Un vrai appartement dans un hôtel. Les chambres sont meublées avec beaucoup de goût, la propreté impeccable, la vue splendide, et l'emplacement, à la croisée des téléphériques, juste génial. Le petit-déjeuner sublime est servi en un tour de main sur la terrasse ensoleillée le matin, le restaurant est super et on peut se faire livrer en chambre si on ne veut pas cuisiner. La cuisine étant toutefois parfaitement équipée et fonctionnelle, une vraie cuisine, pas un "coin repas" prétexte comme on voit parfois. Les deux pièces sont aussi bien séparées, ce qui est appréciable avec un petit enfant pour continuer à vivre une fois qu'il est couché. Il y a plein de rangements dans ce qui est plutôt un dressing qu'un couloir. Et, surtout, un vrai service de palace : tout est parfaitement maîtrisé et ce sans en avoir l'air, dans la détente. Le matin, vous ne commandez rien, tout arrive, juste ce qu'il faut. Merci à toute l'équipe, Sonia, Ricardo, Joao, André, Hugo, Antonio, la femme de ménage qui chante d'une si belle voix :) et tous les autres dont les supers cuisiniers. Vous avez su répondre à toutes nos demandes (le joli lit bébé, le repas du 25, l'arrivée et le départ tardifs, etc.), et nous propulser dans la dimension de la détente et du repos, ce dont nous avions bien besoin ! Merci aussi pour toutes vos attentions et le magnifique panier que vous nous avez offert à Noël. Nous avons découvert l'île de Madère avec bonheur et apprécié de retrouver Monte le soir, avec ce calme dès le téléphérique fermé et après le dernier bus, et cette effervescence sympathique la journée dans ce joli village, ses carreiros, etc. Il n'y a pas de voiture dans la rue sur laquelle donne l'hôtel, ce qui est appréciable aussi avec un enfant.

Le petit déjeuner est très copieux et très varié (fruits frais, produits salés et sucrés). Les chambres sont vraiment confortables. La nuit, l'hôtel et son environnement sont très calmes. Le personnel est très à l'écoute des clients et toujours disponible pour conseiller ou rendre service.
We loved our stay at Babosas Village! We appreciated the quiet neighborhood and loved returing to Monte from our daily trips (rental car recommended). The staff is very friendly and the breakfast just fantastic. We hope to return to Madeira and Babosas Village!
Really nice little apartment, fully equipped with everything you need. We stayed for 5 nights, excellent customer care, great breakfast and very good restaurant where we dined each night. Got great service from all the staff- Sonia, Hugo, Andre, Antonio, Ricardo to name a few! Madeira is blessed nice people, calm and gorgeous views and nature. Took a 1 day trip to Porto Santo to enjoy crystal clear ocean and sandy beach.

Everything. The room was modern, spacious, had a comfortable bed, a great shower and was very clean. The meals that we did eat in the restaurant were excellent and we think were good value for money. We liked the location, but some people may not realize how far Funchal center is from the property. That said the bus journeys up and down the hill into Funchal are not to be missed. Finally, a mention about ever single member of staff that we met during our week long stay, They really were the most friendly, helpful (nothing was too much trouble) group of people that we have ever met in any of the hotels/apartments that we have ever stayed in.

This inn is located near by the Funchal cable car, and walking distance from the botanic garden´s cable car. There is a bus stop near by as well. So, although it's a bit far from downtown Funchal, there are plenty transportation options, and easy as well. We didn't have any problems moving around... Besides that, is simply amazing waking up with that view! Nice rooms, with a little kitchen and living-room. Nice restaurant and breakfest services as well (not included).
We give Babosas Village this high rating because of the following. All the staff, Ricardo, Hugo, Andre, Sonia, the lovely cleaning woman and all the kitchen staff are SUPERB! They are true professionals and work very well together. Anyone would be happy to have such a great team working for them. The meals that we had in the restaurant were wonderful, both professionally prepared and presented. We decided to book a superior apartment, which was very modern and spacious and spotlessly clean. One of the best places I have ever stayed in.

Acomodações super confortáveis, novas e arrumadas. Pequeno apartamento com cozinha e sala, quarto e banheiro. Valeu muito a pena, melhor do que esperávamos. O monte é um pouco distante do centro, porém o Babosas fica muito perto do teleférico e de um ponto de onibus, além de possuir estacionamento.
L'accueil était parfait , le calme , la chambre de + 50 m2 était très moderne digne d'un 4 ou 5 *****, le restaurant patio était très raffiné et les prix entre 15et 25 € par personne . Le service petit déjeuner excellent et copieux et surtout servis en terrasse. Le personnel est d'un grand professionnalisme et au petit soin .

Hemos pasado unos días de vacaciones en Babosas Village y volvemos como de un pequeño paraíso. El hotel ofrece vistas estupendas hacia el mar y montaña, pero además las habitaciones familiares son preciosas y muy confortables. Si hablamos de la cocina...no sé por donde empezar, je je, esos platos de variada fruta fresca, bollitos, mermeladas, jamón, bizcocho, té, café....vistas al mar...unos desayunos geniales, igual que las cenas; la cocina es estupenda ¡¡ Nos hemos sentido como en casa, con personas a las que les gusta su trabajo y eso no tiene precio. La situación del hotel, para nosotros ha sido excelente, ya que buscamos lugares tranquilos y próximos a montaña.
