Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft war sauber und super ausgestattet. Wir bekamen ein leckeres Lunch-Paket, da wir nicht am Frühstück teilnehmen konnten. Das gesamte Personal war zuvorkommend, aufmerksam und sehr nett! Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war super. Zwar ist die Unterkunft nicht nähe Stadtzentrum, aber es gibt eine gute Busanbindung. Wir können es zu 100% weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank :)

 

This is an incredible place to stay, the hospitality is brilliant, the views amazing and the apartment is very clean and spacious. We had a lovely welcome pack of Madeira wine, cake a fruit. The breakfast which you can have delivered to your apartment is like a high tea for breakfast, huge in portion and very hearty, colourful and delicious. The Monte Palace Gardens church and the toboggan rides are right on the doorstep and so is the cable car to the Botanical Gardens. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending this outstanding apartment

Die Gastgeber/das Servicepersonal, das Appartement und auch die komplette Anlage ist einfach grandios! Wir haben hier einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht; es wird auf jeden Wunsch eingegangen, das Frühstück war das beste, dass wir jemals in einem Hotel bekommen haben ! (serviert bekommt man direkt am Tisch: frisches Obst, Brötchen, frisch-gepressten Orangensaft, Käse/Schinken Mozzarella und selbst gebackenen Kuchen). Man bekommt auch die Möglichkeit einen Teil des Frühstücks mitzunehmen (falls es zu viel ist). Also alles in einem; wir waren absolut überrascht so eine tolle Unterkunft gefunden zu haben, alle Bilder stimmen überein, die Sauberkeit, die liebevolle Einrichtung und vor allem die Gastfreundlichkeit - wir kommen definitiv wieder :-) Danke für den tollen Aufenthalt!

Eine in jeglicher Hinsicht sehr außergewöhnlich schöne Unterkunft mit ausschließlich freundlichem und kompetentem Personal. Sehr leckeres Frühstück und anderweitige köstliche Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten.

Banana cake at breakfast was great, as was the breakfast as a whole! The room was great, always clean and bed was really comfy to sleep in. Flats are well equipped in the kitchen, bathroom modern and clean. They have private parking for the car. The staff at the hotel is really friendly and helpful all the time. You have some hiking trails behind the hotel (Pico Alto and one Levada). Funicular is very close and an easy way to get to city, but the bus leaving outside the hotel is cheaper.

The breakfast was really superb The food is an experiment. I'm so glad that I booked Babosas and not some fancy hotel in the city, as the climate of Monte region was so freshening after a busy day. The staffs of the hotel are amazing, Hugo is cool and very helpful. Being a solo traveler I was really looked after.

Wir waren zu zweit für 11 Nächte von Mitte bis Ende Februar im Babosas Village und hatten einen großartigen Urlaub. Ausschlaggebend für unsere Wahl waren die bereits ausgzeichneten Bewertungen anderer Gäste, welche wir nur bestätigen können. Die Lage im ruhigen Monte oberhalb von Funchal, direkt neben den beiden Bergstationen der Seilbahnen sowie dem tropischen Garten und den Korbschlittenfahrern, war ideal, um einige der Top Sehenswürdigkeiten und Aktivitäten direkt vor der Haustür zu erleben. Unsere Ferienwohnung im Babosas Village war sehr neu und modern eingerichtet, mit Wohnküche (alles vorhanden), Schlafzimmer mit großem Bett und modernem Badezimmer mit begehbarer Regenwalddusche. Das gesamte Personal war von Beginn an überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit, half zum Beispiel beim Koffer tragen oder gab uns Tipps und Material für Wanderungen, so dass wir uns die ganze Zeit über wie zuhause fühlten. Selbst die Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt, Betten gemacht und Geschirr gespült, was über die inklusiven Leistungen hinausging. Wir hatten das Frühstück gebucht, das wir an sonnigen Morgen auf der Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer eingenommen haben. Und da es so praktisch und lecker war, haben wir auch das Abendessen fast jeden Tag im Patio Restaurant (im selben Gebäude) genossen. Das Angebot ist sehr groß (selbst für uns als Fisch essende Vegetarier), die Qualität hervorragend, man fühlt sich wie im Sternerestaurant (es gibt auch einen gemütlichen Kamin), und das zu ausgesprochen günstigen Preisen. Wer wie wir nur zu Fuß oder mit dem öffentlichen Nahverkehr unterwegs ist, kann direkt vor dem Hotel den Bus nehmen, der auch spät abends noch fährt, oder bis zum frühen Abend die Seilbahn (allerdings recht teuer). Alternative wäre ein Taxi, um in die Stadt oder wieder zurück zu kommen. Geldautomaten oder Supermärkte haben wir in Monte nicht gefunden.

Sehr schönes und gepflegts Apartment, geschmaklich toll eingerichtet. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns unglaublich wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück wird im Restaurant oder auf der Terrasse serviert und ist vollkommen ausreichend. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig aber steil oberhalb von Funchal im Gebiet Monte gelegen, eine Busverbindung und Seilbahn sind vor der Haustüre vorhanden. Der Ausblick auf Funchsl und das Meer sind unglaublich schön. Wenn man sich ein Auto mietet wäre ein größerer Motor empfehlenswert, da die Steigungen bis zu 30 / 40% betragen. Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden und würden sofort wieder kpmmen. Vielen herzlichen Dank an das gesamte Team!

Sehr gut, toller Blick über Funchal. Perfekt gelegen zwischen den Seilbahn-Stationen Funchal-Monte Monte-Botanischer Garten. Direkter Anschluss an einen Levada-Wanderweg.

Warm welcome, lovely staff, excellent food, comfortable apartment, high standard bedding and towels, complimentary wine and cake on arrival was a nice touch too.

It is hard to remain understated when commenting on Babosas Village. Simply put, it was one of the most welcoming places I ever stayed at, anywhere, and I do travel quite a bit. We spent 4 nights in December 2017 there, and the apartment was much better than shown by the already quite impressive pictures. First of all, the place is huge: large bathroom, generous dorm, a kitchen with everything in it (plates, glasses, cups, fridge, 2 electric stoves, kettle, etc), and a truly large living room, which is the one you enter the apartment coming from the terrace. Many a couple living in Manhattan, Tokyo or Sao Paulo would love to call such a generous place their home! As we had a relatively short stay, we didn't use the kitchen much and never cooked, but I couldn't imagine a better place to spend a couple of weeks in: it so much feels like your own apartment and not like a hotel, plus you can save money by cooking at home at times. Then, there's the quality of furnishings and the spotless cleanness: high-quality mattress neither too soft nor overly stiff, numerous good pillows and a lovely bathroom with rain shower. The floors, made of a stone which might be granite (unsure though) are lovely to walk on barefoot, both in the bathroom and in the rest of the apartment, and probably keep you nicely cool in summer. There is AC, which we didn't use as we were there in December. We did sleep with open windows though, and appreciated both the privacy of the place and the lack of any traffic at night. Above all, however, there's the sheer friendliness of the staff! Which comes across as natural and not studied. We arrived around midnight after a delayed flight; Ricardo was there expecting us with a smile, a glas of Madeira wine, and showed us around. A small complimentary bottle of Madeira expected us in the apartment. We had daily breakfasts and also ate two nights there - and thus, next to Ricardo, also befriended Hugo, who serves in the restaurant (both breakfast and dinner, btw, are highly recommended - possibly the best octopus I ever had was served by Hugo, and I do travel each summer to Greece). One night we came late from town, the restaurant had closed already, but Hugo and Ricardo were still there, so they brought out the leftover poncha (local cocktail) and served it to us for free, while exchanging stories about the island. This was certainly not a business strategy, but genuine friendliness and interest. Drawbacks? I guess the place is a bit remote from the city and there's no alternative for dinner or breakfast around; not that you'd need one. Although there's the cable car right outside the hotel and also a bus going to Funchal, the cable car stops in the evening, and I'm not sure how late the bus is running. For flexibility, and also to easily reach the levadas, renting a car (as we had) might be a good idea. Due to the steepness and narrowness of Madeira roads, a small car (Peugeot 208 or alike) with a diesel engine seems the best choice. All in all, a lovely base for exploring a lovely island. Obrigado.
