Beautiful Modern Villa in Calheta – CalhetaScape

Heerlijke week gehad in mei 2022. Villa was erg schoon en ruim qua slaapkamers en badkamers. Prima keuken en woonkamer. Villa ligt qua zon goed, vanaf 10.00 uur hadden we de hele dag zon bij het zwembad. Villa ligt wat afgelegen, maar wel een supermarkt op loopafstand. Calheta en jardim do mar zijn leuke plaatjes. Enige nadeel, de weg om de hoek van de villa wordt vernieuwd/aangepast hierdoor reden er de hele dag zware vrachtwagens langs het huis. Dit project aan de weg gaat vermoedelijk nog wel het hele jaar duren.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt.
Störend war der Lärm der Baustelle.
In den Duschen wäre eine zusätzliche Ablage für Duschgel/Shampoo hilfreich.
Wir haben uns aber sehr wohl gefühlt.

Nice uncluttered villa, very clean and well presented. Good location with excellent sea views. Good supermarket, cafe & Pharmacy an easy stroll away. Car recommended but there are local buses.

Casa fantástica, espaçosa, agradável, ótima para famílias! Todos adoraram! A piscina no centro da casa permite estar sempre de olho nas crianças. A casa fica num sítio muito bonito e de lá rapidamente nos colocamos no centro da Calheta ou noutro sítio qualquer. Foram umas excelentes férias!

Lovely stay in a very modern house with fab pool area with sea view. Unfortunately the house didn't feel very lived in, but this may have been covid-19 related. Make sure to bring/buy dishwasher tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid, loo roll etc.

Amazing villa, lots of space and very clean. Lovely to have a private pool to ourselves. Dalila was very friendly and helpful, giving us recommendations for local restaurants, shops, taxis etc. Need a car for this location as not much within walking distance but easy to get taxis. Lots of nice restaurants at Cahleta. Really enjoyed our stay

This villa is wonderful. It is very spacious and modern, with 4 nice sized bedrooms all with their own bathroom facilities 3 en-suite. Stunning sea views and not overlooked. The pictures don't do it justice. The area is very peaceful and relaxing with lots of seating inside and out. We moved the couches around to make it more cosy for watching the TV so we really felt at home. Mind the TV - the legs are on the wrong way around and it falls over VERY easily!! The games room is a great addition however we didn't get a whole lot of time to play as there is lots to do on the island. Do a bit of research there are loads of sites that give you information and access to bookings. The 25 Fountains (which is a 3.5 hour medium level hike) was wonderful and we were lucky enough to be there in Feb so we caught Carnival in Funchal which was amazing. Porto Moniz the natural pools were great fun too. We had 8 days and have only scratched the surface of things to do - after all the villa is so lovely you will want to stay and have a few chill out days during your stay - you are on holiday after all!! We hired a car which gave us the freedom to go when and where we wanted and we would recommend doing this, mind you the roads are narrow and winding and ALL are at the edges of cliffs!!!! Not for the fainthearted!! Public transport seems minimal. The company that manages this villa sent us a lot of information in the run up to our booking. The directions they give to the villa are very accurate so follow them exactly and you will find it, the gate can be easy to miss. They advised us about car hire; namely that the ques to collect a car at the airport can be very long, the reason being people becoming upset about the excess being charged (in the event of an accident) by the hire companies. We found in fact the wait time was quite short and we were sorted within about 30 minutes from landing, however it was February when we were there so it might be a different story in the height of the season. They will offer you an option to hire a car through them that does not have this large excess attached. We checked out the prices and did a comparison and found their offer to be quiet expensive compared to the 'high street' hire companies. Our advice is to add car hire excess cover to your multi-trip travel insurance (if you have it - if you don't have it, get it!!) and go for the one of the main companies such as Avis. There is a shop about 2 minutes down the road and a bigger supermarket in Calheta, about 10 minutes drive. There are a couple of nice restaurants there - New Era is the best one. There is a nice lunch spot on the prom in Jardin do Mar about 10 minutes drive in the other direction and a pup/restaurant Joe's with a pool table in the middle of the houses - ask Dalila and she will give you the link. There is a nice place close to the villa too about 5 minutes drive up behind it, again ask Delila and she will send you the link. Loads of restaurants in Funchal in the old town about 35/40 minutes drive. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back to do the rest of the things we missed out on this time. And when we do come we will definitely be booking Calhetascape again. We loved it. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

We stayed here over Christmas and had a lovely time. The villa is very spacious and comfortable with great views over the sea. There were four of us and we were extremely comfortable in the space. There is plenty of room for everyone. All rooms have an en-suite shower room. The kitchen is well equipped and the living areas are great - inside a dining room cum sitting room, outside a deck with swimming pool, plenty of deck chairs and a good sized dining table, then there is the games area with table tennis and table football. We had a lot of fun! There is a small but good supermarket about 2mins drive away and a bigger one plus restaurants in Calheta (about 8mins by car). I would say you need a car here as there is not really anything within walking distance. The island is wonderful with stunning scenery and some fabulous walks. Dalila was very helpful and responsive. I would happily go back.

We had a great stay on this beautiful island. The house is brand new and proposing everything you need for a big family. Beautiful pool and sea views. During rush hours sometimes a little bit noisy. Thanks to Dalila for her hospitality.

Amazing host that was always available with quick answers and tips. The villa also exceeded our expectations and was spectacular in a location with lovely weather. As we had rented cars it allowed us to move around freely which we also recommend to others.

Eigener Pool, sehr moderne Ausstattung.

Hele mooie villa, waar we met ons gezin van 4 (met twee tieners van 14-16) echt super van genoten hebben. Heel veel ruimte, mooie slaapkamers met badkamer en grote keuken, mooi uitzicht op zee, lekker zwembad, Playstation / JBL bluetooth muziekboxje / tafeltennis en -voetbal, fijne ligstoelen....voor ieder wat wils dus, echt heel compleet.

Villa parfaite pour découvrir Madère, avec équipements complets et piscine très agréable et ensoleillée, offrant une belle vue sur la mer.
