Die Unterkunft war ein Traum! Es war mehr als genug Platz und der Blick aufs Meer war unbeschreiblich schön. Das Haus liegt ca. 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß von Calheta Beach und ist gut mit dem Auto oder eben zu Fuß erreichbar. Nur die steile Einfahrt hat uns Probleme bereitet so dass wir an der Straße geparkt haben. Aber auch das war problemlos möglich. Wir haben tolle 11 Tage hier verbracht und sowohl im Vorfeld als auch bei Check-In war die Kommunikation ausgesprochen freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Vielen Dank!

The view of the Villa is beautiful. There are only a few neighbors, you nearly only have banana trees and the ocean. The Villa was also perfect for 7 people. Everything is like on the pictures. The communication was also top! Thank you:)
Beautiful property in a peaceful location . Fabulous infinity pool overlooking a mass of banana trees and the sea in the distance! The villa was very spacious and well equipped. One piece of advice is to park on the road outside as the driveway is very steep!
Superb Villa and Madeira is one of the best places We have ever been. Everything considering Our Madeira as organizer was perfect. Be advised to read carefully all emails Our Madeira send to You, especially about trip to Villa and Check In. It contains complete and crucial information. We will be happy to return some day to Villa and island.

We had to unexpectedly extend our stay in Madeira due to the flight situation and we booked The Design House until we were able to return home. The house it's self is really comfortable and feels very homely. The kitchen is well equipped and the location is great. There were only 2 of us but the house would comfortably sleep 6 adults and a couple of children without feeling like you were on top of each other. There is easily enough seating/dining/sunbathing space to accommodate those numbers and board games/PS4 are provided. Only the TV could be upgraded to a more modern smart TV but if you're on vacation, you wouldn't be wanting to watch the TV too much. The view over the banana plantation to the sea beyond is beautiful and the house is located at the end of a no through road so it is very quiet. It's within relatively easy walking distance and a 2 minute drive to Calheta beach/marina where you will find some lovely restaurants and general grocery shopping etc. It's also 2 mins from the highway where you can reach Funchal within 25 minutes. The pool was great, we paid for the heating which was reasonably priced and it was comfortably warm enough to swim even in January. In other homes we had rented before this one, the pools were not heated and ranged in temp between 12 and 16 degrees...... Vanda the house keeper was very nice and available on WhatsApp if we needed anything.

The house is amazing, high class, with an amazing view and a stunning infinite pool. We spent two weeks with five friends there and we had a great time. We recommend it to our friends. Linda is the prefect host.

What a view! Really nice place to stay, lovely pool with perfect view and a everything you need for a nice holiday is there. Too bad the first few days our wifi and television were broken and the pool lights were broken for the whole week. Also the crane showers have seen better days. Nevertheless we absolutely enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place on Madeira.
A fantastic villa with everything you could possibly need. Amazing amenities and positioned in a great location. The view from the pool is unbelievable, we had such a great time here. The agent was very helpful with quick response times. The only down side would be that there was no WiFi but we didn't let that spoil our trip!
The house is very bright and beautiful. From nearly every room and from the terrace you have an awesome view over the sea. When the pool is heated, you can enjoy it even in December. The house is located in a quite protected area on the hill so that even in December it is very warm on the terrace and one can sit outside until late in the evening. It is also a good starting point for hikes. And it is very quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay at the house
The House complies with the indications and photographs. Immersed in a banana tree forest, silent, spacious and relaxing. It is equipped with every comfort and the kitchen is also perfectly equipped. The pool is relaxing and allows excellent ocean views. Calheta, as seen, is one of the quietest and sunniest areas of the island. Perfect the Host. Recommended experience.

The DesignHouse présente bien des atouts. Sa situation géographique, pour commencer : elle permet d'organiser à la journée des excursions dans toutes les directions de l'ile, en privilégiant les petites routes à l'aller et les voies rapides au retour : aucune fatigue. Et des allers/retours faciles à Funchal, pour une découverte de la capitale en plusieurs étapes. Son environnement : elle est fort agréablement située à l'écart de toute agitation (sans être isolée, mais sans vis à vis), offre une très agréable vue sur l'océan et la végétation environnante. Le soleil accompagne petits déjeuners et apéritifs en terrasse, au calme : de purs moments de bonheur. Son confort : parfaitement équipée, à tout point de vue. Décoration très agréable. Un supplément à régler pour le chauffage de la piscine : un rien, comparé au plaisir d'une séance de natation dans une eau à 29° en cette période de l'année. D'excellentes directives écrites pour s'y rendre (peut-être faudrait-il juste préciser à l'arrivée qu'il faut prendre, au dernier rond-point, la voie pourtant indiquée sans issue), un excellent accueil et une bonne assistance immédiate par téléphone (un petit problème avec le compteur un matin). Des commerces et des restaurants à proximité. Un séjour idéal : nous ne pouvons que recommander cette location, que se soit pour des couples d'amis ou pour une famille.
Stunning Villa in a beautiful location, very quiet and peaceful but close to the resort and beach in Calheta. The villa is very spacious and tastefully finished throughout. The views are just unbelievable looking out over the ocean. 6 of us stayed for a week in the villa and we loved it. I would definitely recommend hiring a car, and the whale and dolphin watching boat trip from the harbour is a must :) The hosts couldn't have been more helpful throughout, all in all a great holiday in an amazing villa.
We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Design House and really enjoyed our time there. The villa was very comfortable, clean and every bit as good as the photos depict (if we uploaded photos, they would look pretty much the same). Arco da Calheta is a lovely place to be and on Madeira's sunny side and is very conveniently placed for levada walking, etc. Note to self: if/when we return, the size of car we hire should be smaller than a Renault Megane which we nearly grounded when trying to drive down the very steep short driveway (we did not repeat this experience!).
Everything was great about this villa: location, cleanliness, pool, facilities, bedrooms, the villa itself. It is in a banana plantation and so peaceful and beautiful. The pool was fabulous and we spent lots of time there and relaxing on the sunbeds. We visited local beaches and swam in the sea. (NB, you do need sea shoes to walk over the pebbles into the sea.) There is a very good local supermarket a few minutes drive away and good restaurants and ice cream parlour at the marina. It was our first visit to Madeira and we found it restful and quiet. Roads were well-maintained and easy to navigate. It was easy to organise this whole experience and definitely use the carhire recommended by the manager. We had a brilliant holiday in the Designhouse and would love to come back.

Cette maison est un paradis. La vue est a coupé le souffle avec aucun vis à vis, au milieu des bananes et en plus une vue incroyable sur l'océan. La maison est très grande avec toutes les commodités! La piscine est parfaite et demander le supplément pour la chauffer à été une bonne idée. On était en plein hiver et on se sentait en plein été, piscine et bronzette possible! Magique! Caletha n'est pas loin pour y faire des courses et boire un verre et manger.( 20 min à pied ou 3 min en voiture).Je recommande vivement cette adresse. Merci à toute l'équipe!

Super Ausstattung, viel Platz, großer Pool
Location conforme aux annonces : propre, spacieuse, bien située. Proche des sentiers de randonnée, des bateaux pour se balader avec les dauphins et d'Helmut et ses parapentes. Nous avons passé 10 jours à 6 sans soucis. Un merci à l'équipe de Our Madeira pour sa réactivité et ses réponses pertinentes à toutes nos questions
Our overall impression is GREAT and more than word can say. Close to the airport and all facilities, the house is really comfortable, very clean and well equipped. Due to its location, you are pretty close to all main sites to visit in Madeira. The pool will be really appreciated by everybody (2 adults & 3 children) specially after a long walk in the Levadas. Don't hesitate to rent this house for your holidays!
We have just had two wonderful weeks in the design house. The villa itself is just gorgeous, from nearly every window you can see the sea! Really comfortable and modern with everything you need and more. It is exactly as it looks in the photos. From booking the villa to arriving, everything was made easy and effortless by the staff involved. The pool is beautiful and my children loved splashing around in it. A car is definitely needed, you can walk to the beach but you would need to be super fit as the hill back to the villa is immense!! We booked a car through the management company which was great. The car company picked us up from the airport and drove us a short distance away to their offices where we picked up our car. I would highly recommend the service. The Island is so beautiful that having car will allow you to explore the amazing things there are to see, of which there are many. The only thing I would suggest that could improve the villa is air con in the bedrooms or at least fans. It does get very hot! We have had a wonderful holiday and will most definitely return to the little piece of heaven that is the design house.
The villa is about 20 mins walk away from Calheta, which is a lovely harbour with a good supermarket and a hand full of nice and very friendly restaurants. The villa itself is superb: very well specced out (it had absolutely everything you could think of!) and hugely spacious. A lot of the equipment is brand new and the villa itself is only a few years old. The outside space and pool are fantastic with really comfortable sunbeds and outdoor furniture. We have stayed in a lot of villas and this is by far the best we've stayed in and will definitely be back. We have already recommended the villa to at least 3 other couples in the 6 days we've been back home.
Nice villa with plenty of space and modern interior. The main attractions are the view and nice infinity pool. The villa has everything you need: complete kitchen, games, books and a playstation... we have never seen anything like it. Also within a few minutes you are in Calheta to buy your groceries or visit a restaurant or the beach. Would recommend it anytime!
