away. Here you will find a café with lovely esplanade viewpoint and
a snack bar (as well as the church).
The nearest mini-market is 700 metres away, next to the pharmacy
and two cafés/snack-bars.
From Arco da Calheta you have great access to the mountains for
both sightseeing (Madeira is breathtakingly beautiful) and walking
(which has become extremely popular along the levadas or for
hiking).
The resort of Calheta, with it's manmade golden beach, is 3Km
away, and here you will you will find a good choice of bars and
restaurants. a handful of boutique shops and a good
supermarket.
Ribeira Brava, 10 minutes by car, is the next largest town, and
offers a greater election of shops, cafés and restaurants, and a
couple of supermarkets.
The capital, Funchal, is an easy 30 minutes drive along the
motorway, and the airport a further 15 minutes on.

Das Haus ist genau das was wir uns vorgestellt haben. Wir haben 10 wundervolle Tage im Haus verbracht und konnten unsere Ferientage geniessen. Die Lage ist sehr gut und der Ausblick sehr schön. Das Haus verfügt über die notwendigsten Gegenstände die man benötigt um dort zu leben. Die Küche ist sehr gross und es machte spass zu kochen wie auch gleichzeitig genussvoll die Aussicht aufs Meer zu sehen. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und man hört tagsüber wie auch nachts über nichts und man kann sich richtig gut entspannen. Was man aber beachten muss oder zu empfehlen ist das man ein Auto braucht da es auf dem Hügel ist. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert und vor allem wenn jemand mit der eigene Familie hingehen möchte. Wir bedanken uns sehr und werden bestimmt wieder kommen. :)
The house was really well-equipped and tastefully decorated. There was everything we needed and it was impeccably clean when we arrived. The house is ideally situated in a quiet street, a perfect place to be for visiting the island.
We really enjoyed our stay in this wonderful villa. It was clean and tidy when we arrived. With plenty of towels for everyone. The kitchen is well-equipped. And the patio with the pool was a big plus with sun all day.
Beautiful villa! In a great location lovely private swimming pool. We stayed here with our two children the weather on this side of the island was amazing too! We would definitely recommend.
