Calheta Beach and Marina are a 5-minute drive. A good selection of restaurants and bars and a well-stocked supermarket. Boat trips for dolphin and whale watching and coastal cruising and boat charters for deep sea fishing are available. A five-minute drive takes you to the famous Casa Mudas Art Centre with year-round exhibitions and a traditional sugar cane factory, one of only two left operating on the island. You can tour the factory and sample the locally made famous poncha. The capital Funchal is a 30-minute car journey and the drive to the airport takes around 50 minutes.
