Sol e Mar - Check-in and Driving Instructions

Please print these driving instructions and have them with you when you arrive in Madeira.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:

  • Leaving the airport, take the dual carriageway in the direction of Funchal (road known as the Via Rápida).
  • At approximately 10.9 km, you need to leave the motorway at junction 15, signposted to GARAJAU 

Airport Garajau  

  • Turn left towards Garajau. You will come to two roundabouts, and continue straight ahead until you reach Estrada do Garajau.

  • Stay on this road. You will pass bars and restaurants on your left.
  • When you come to the roundabout at the bottom, go straight across.

    Sol E Mar
  • Continue all the way down the hill for 1 kilometre, and you will see a large car park and the 'Cristo do Rei' statue ahead of you.
  • Continue for another 200 metres, and you will find Villa Sol e Mar, the 2nd house on your left, no. 387.
