Cottage do Mar - Check-in and Driving Instructions

Please print these driving instructions and have them with you when you arrive in Madeira.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:

  • Leaving the airport take the motorway (Via Rápida) West in the direction of Funchal and after this to Ribeira Brava. Travel for 34. Km.

Airport Ribeira Brava

  • When you reach the end of the motorway (approximately 35 minutes) keep on the right hand lane and follow the signs to Ribeira Brava - Ponta do Sol.
  • The slip road will lead you to a roundabout. Take the first exit to Ribeira Brava and drive towards the sea for 1,4Km. You will reach another roundabout. Take the 1st exit into the tunnel and you will now carry on for 3,9Km until you reach the roundabout of Ponta do Sol.

Calheta 1

  • At the end of the tunnel you will reach another roundabout, take the 2nd exit to your right and continue along the coastal road. 

Calheta 2

  • At the following roundabout, take the 2nd exit, to Madalena do Mar.

  • At the end of the tunnel at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and you will be in village of Madalena do Mar.
  • Drive along the coastal road and at the end you will see a parking at your left. Please stop there and you will be met and shown the way to the villa.
