Casa Vista Bela - Check-in and Driving Instructions

Please print these driving instructions and have them with you when you arrive in Madeira.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:

  • Leaving the airport, take the motorway (Via Rápida) West in the direction of Funchal and after this to Ribeira Brava. Travel for 34. Km.

  • When you reach the end of the motorway (approximately 35 minutes) keep on the right hand lane and follow the signs to Ribeira Brava - Ponta do Sol.
  • The slip road will lead you to a roundabout. Take the first exit to Ribeira Brava and drive towards the sea for 1,4Km. You will reach another roundabout. Take the 1st exit into the tunnel and you will now carry on for 3,9Km until you reach the roundabout of Ponta do Sol.

  • At the end of the tunnel you will reach another roundabout; take the 2nd exit , signposted Ponta do Sol and drive through another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel. At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel.

Calheta 2

  • At the end of this tunnel you will come to the roundabout of Ponta do Sol; on the left you will find a petrol station and mini market. Take the 2nd exit into the next tunnel and drive for 2,8Km.
  • At the end of the tunnel, at the roundabout, turn sharp right into the next tunnel (signposted Calheta).
  • At the roundabout (1,6Km), take the first turn-off, signposted to Calheta, drive through the next tunnel for 1,8Km.

Calheta 3

  • Reaching the next roundabout, take the second exit following signs to Calheta and through another tunnel until you reach the Calheta roundabout (2.5 km).
  • Go straight across (2nd exit), signposted Prazeres (don't turn left into Calheta) and enter a further tunnel, driving for 2.3 km.
  • Reaching the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit, signposted Paul do Mar/Farmácia/Parque Empresarial da Calheta.

  • Drive past the Pharmacy (Farmácia) on your right, and turn first left (200m from the roundabout), signposted "Loja de  Ferragens".

  • Follow this road for approximately 500m, and you will pass a hardware store, mini-market, and café "No 99"
  • Just ahead, less than 100 metres away, you will find Casa Vista Bela on your left with an ample parking space in the front and showing the local lodging sign "AL" and No. 55.

    NOTE: The owners of Café and Mini-Market 99 are the owners of Casa Vista Bela. Should you not find the villa, you can always stop at the café/mini-market and ask for help.
